The aim of the Union is to develop and encourage fencing and to promote and conduct amateur fencing championships within Kent.
Message from Peter Huggins, Chairman KCAFU
I wish to congratulate the Kent team on their excellent result in winning the Excalibur inter-counties six weapon tournament in Bath
last weekend. It is a long time since we won this event and Corsini King and his team should be heartily congratulated on this great win,
so my thanks as County Chairman, and on behalf of the county union, go to Corsini, our captain,
and the team members all of whom gave their time and expended their effort so freely to ensure this victory.
I should also thank Jane Clayton for all of her back up and behind the scenes work without which I am sure Corsini’s
life would had been just a tad harder.
I saw the team were working well together when I was at the event and were supporting each other throughout their matches. It was good to watch such a cohesive unit in action and their victory was totally justified.
Once again, WELL DONE team on a marvellous performance.
Peter Huggins, Chairman

After two days of exciting and hard fought matches the South East region won the Senior Winton Cup.
Congratulations to all the South East team across the three weapons that competed.
Kent finished in 3rd place behind Devon and Somerset at the Excalibur inter county fencing competition held in Bath. The Kent men's Epee team were the highest placed men's Epee team being undefeated all weekend and Adam Whitelaw was the highest placed individual men's epeeist. Well done to the whole team for some very close matches and for giving their all for their county. Photos of the Kent team at the Excalibur can be seen on our gallery.
The South East Veterans team won the Veterans Winton cup for the first time.
The South West were finally beaten after a 7 year undefeated run.
South East came close last year losing first place by only hit. This year they were undefeated, beating the other 9 regions with a really brilliant team effort.
