Gold medal for Mallard Fencer and Pentathlete Ben Pond representing Great Britain at the European Youth Championships in Sweden.
Ben just missed out on selection to the final of the individuals. However, he was selected for the relay in which he was able to use a different laser and had the best shoot he has ever done, as well as the best fence of 10v and 5d, then his partner getting 9v and 6d put them joint second and then 1st after the swim.
They didn't think they would be able to hold back the fast running Russians but brilliant shooting gave them Gold. Well done what an excellent achievement. Photo's here
